1. Subscription Terms & Cancellations
Our monthly website subscriptions cover the significant upfront labor of designing and developing a professional website, as well as ongoing hosting, maintenance, and support. Because of this initial labor investment, subscriptions require a 12-month initial term.
After the initial 12 months, your agreement automatically transitions to a month-to-month renewal.
How to Cancel: You may request cancellation at any time by filling out our secure Cancellation Request Form utilizing your session ID, logging into your billing portal, or by emailing our support team directly. We do not force you to call us or jump through unnecessary retention hurdles to cancel your service.
Please Note: Cancelling during the initial 12-month term prevents automatic renewal, but it does not end your initial commitment absent a formally executed written early termination or buyout agreement.
2. Satisfaction Promise & Refunds
Satisfaction Promise & Cure Period
We stand behind our work. If you are unsatisfied with the service at any point, we ask that you provide written notice detailing the specific issues. RescueWebsites will have a commercially reasonable period (typically 14-30 days) to cure the stated issues before the service may be considered undelivered.
Setup Fees (Standard Plans)
Setup fees are fully refundable before substantive discovery, content strategy, design, or development work begins. Once substantive work has commenced, setup fees are nonrefundable, as they cover the active labor of initiating your project.
Monthly Subscription Fees
Monthly subscription fees cover active hosting, software licenses, and ongoing maintenance. Monthly payments are generally nonrefundable once a service period begins. Exceptions are made to promptly correct duplicate charges, billing errors, charges processed after a valid cancellation, errors on the part of RescueWebsites, or in the event of entirely undelivered services.
$0 Upfront Option Refunds
For clients who select the "$0 Upfront" option, there is no hidden setup fee. Completed months of service are generally nonrefundable. If you cancel before any substantive design or development work begins, your initial monthly payment will be refunded.
3. Failed Payments & Grace Periods
We understand that credit cards expire and operational banking hiccups occur. We follow a clear, structured grace period for failed payments:
- Day 1: Initial payment fails. You will receive an automated email notice with a secure link to update your payment method. Services remain fully active.
- Day 3: Automated retry and reminder. Services remain active.
- Day 5: Final suspension warning notice is sent.
- Around Day 7: If payment is not updated, the website may be temporarily suspended (displaying a maintenance or offline notice) until the account is brought current.
- Around Day 15: Past-due escalation. Edit requests and support tickets remain paused.
- Around Day 30: If the account remains in arrears, the subscription faces possible termination.
4. Ownership, Buyouts, & Transfers
You Own Your Identity: You always own your domain name, your organization's logo, the original text content you provide, your business name, supplied images/files, lead/customer data, and business information.
Website Buyout: If you wish to cancel your subscription but keep the exact website we built for you (transferring it to your own hosting environment), you may request a buyout. Buyout and transfer costs are individually quoted based on your specific plan tier, time elapsed in your term, commercial plugin licenses required, integrated systems, migration complexities, custom development work, and any outstanding balances.
5. Data Retention Post-Cancellation
If your subscription is cancelled and you do not execute a buyout, your website will be taken offline. We retain an archived backup of the website structure and data for roughly 30 days following cancellation, subject to your service agreement and applicable law, after which it is permanently deleted from our active servers for security and privacy compliance.
